Museum of Ice Cream – Miami
Imagine yourself as a child being immersed in a life size playland of treats that you can touch and play on. Now imagine getting to eat multiple servings of ice cream as you enter each new and exciting playroom. Kids (and adults alike) today don’t have to imagine, they can take a trip to visit one of the Museum of Ice Cream art instillations around the country. We got a chance to visit the Museum of Ice Cream in Miami (the Miami location has since ended their instillation, but you can find them in other cities around the nation) during a trip for Mother’s Day weekend 2018. We had such a great time together there, keep reading below to hear all about our day there.
I pre-purchased tickets to this event to make sure there would be availability at the preferred time we wanted to go. Once we arrived at our scheduled time, we were put with a group of people who were also a part of that time slot. This helped prevent too many people from going in at once so that each guest could enjoy the experience without feeling rushed.
The first room we entered contained the sprinkle pool and it was the only timed room, each room we entered into after that we were free to spend as much or as little time as we wanted. The pool was full of plastic imitation sprinkles (because let’s face it, a pool of real sprinkles shared by strangers sounds pretty gross), you could let your body sink in the sprinkles, or play with plastic beach balls inside, or just concentrate of getting the perfect pictures in your allotted amount of time.
After that, we entered a series of really fun rooms where we were treated to ice cream (in three different rooms). Took our turn swinging on huge swings shaped into bananas and cherries, built life size candy towers, and we even got the chance to play in pink colored sand to build sand castles that you’ve only seen in cartoons before. This was clearly created to allow not only kids, but also adults to embrace their imagination and have a great time doing so! The pictures below will show the fun we had better than my words can describe it.
The amount of work that took to create this life size art that people were able to interact with was so amazing and I’m glad we got the chance to check it out. If you get the opportunity to go to one in another city, I encourage you to make the trip, it’ll be worth it!
